The difference between Blue and Lilac

I offen get asked how to tell the difference between blue and lilac. Well thanks to Elodie and Barnabe and their stunning litter I have some stunning true to colour examples.

So this little lady is a true Blue bunny colouring...

And this little lady is a true Lilac rabbit colouring...

When you see them together like this it's so easy to tell apart. A true lilac rabbit will start off looking pale Chocolate. As they get older they look like they have a pink tinge to the fur, especially when held in the sunlight.

Here's another example...

This gorgeous girl is a blue spotted butterfly with white ears...

And this handsome boy is a Lilac spotted butterfly with white ears...

When they are patterned it can be a bit trickier to tell. But again the lilac boy started life looking like a Chocolate/ possibly tri colour.
